Rebuilding our West Suffolk mobile cancer care unit
Help us to keep mobile cancer care in the community throughout West Suffolk
For a decade now, ‘Frisbey’, our West Suffolk-based mobile cancer care unit, has been bringing vital cancer care closer to patients across the county, saving them thousands of miles of travel and countless hours of precious time. Now, this essential service needs your support to continue.

Why we need your help
After nearly 10 years of service, our West Suffolk mobile cancer care unit has reached the end of its operational lifespan and requires a complete rebuild to continue serving the community. Without our mobile cancer care units patients could face:
- Longer journeys to receive treatment
- Additional anxiety during an already challenging time
- Increased financial stress from travel costs
- Less time with loved ones and at home
Your support will make a difference
Every donation, regardless of size, brings us closer to our goal of providing a new mobile unit for patients across the Suffolk community *. Your contribution helps ensure cancer patients throughout the county can continue to receive accessible, compassionate care closer to where they need it.
How you can help
After nearly a decade of service, Frisbey urgently needs a full rebuild. Without it, thousands of patients could face delayed treatment, longer journeys, and added stress. Hope for Tomorrow has already raised £210,000 and secured funding to maintain the unit from the Alborada Trust for the next three years – but a further £77,000 is needed urgently to complete the project.
Please donate today to help us achieve our goal.
Funding for a brand new mobile cancer care unit
With special thanks to those funders who have helped us to reach the amount raised so far, including the Bernard Sunley Charitable Trust, Pink Ribbon Foundation, Roche Products Ltd, Hobson Charity Ltd, Hospital Saturday Fund, and Belstead Ganzoni Charitable Trust.
“For nearly a decade, we’ve witnessed the remarkable impact Hope for Tomorrow has in making the care that cancer patients need more convenient for them. These mobile units save patients their precious time, reduce the stress of travel, and also ensure that vital cancer services are accessible for the patients who need them in their local communities.
“As the first to pledge support toward rebuilding the West Suffolk mobile unit, I’m pleased to announce the Bernard Sunley Foundation’s commitment to this essential service. We believe wholeheartedly in Hope for Tomorrow’s mission and have seen the life-changing results. Our investment ensures cancer patients across West Suffolk will continue receiving the accessible, compassionate care they deserve. The Foundation is proud to support this rebuild project and looks forward to seeing the new mobile unit serving community members for many years to come.”
– Sue Davies, Director at the Bernard Sunley Foundation
The Bernard Sunley Foundation’s support demonstrates the tangible difference our mobile cancer care units make – meaning that essential cancer services are more accessible for those that need them in their community, bringing cancer care closer to home, reducing travel, waiting and treatment times, and giving patients more time to spend on feeling better or doing the things they want to do.
