Volunteering

Make a difference

Our challenge is to make sure that cancer treatment is accessible to all, which is why we need people like you to volunteer, in whatever way you can.

There are many ways to get involved – speaking at a local event, admin support at our head office (or remotely), taking photos for us or collecting donations and meeting fundraisers as a Hope for Tomorrow representative.
Hours, days or months – any time you give really makes a difference.

Why volunteer?

All our volunteers have their own reasons for being part of the Hope for Tomorrow team but here are just some of the benefits of helping:

  • you’ll make a meaningful difference to people affected by cancer.
  • volunteering can help you develop your confidence and interpersonal skills.
  • you’ll be working with a friendly team, have the chance to make new friends and meet a diverse group of people
  • it looks good on your CV! New skills and outside interests will be attractive to employers.
  • your contribution will be valued and respected.
  • and you’ll become part of the Hope for Tomorrow community.

Volunteering opportunities

We have a variety of different volunteering positions available depending on what you’d like to get involved in. For more information, please contact volunteer@hopefortomorrow.org.uk

Community Champion

Time commitment: we have flexible roles to suit your requirements. Evening and weekends can be requested by supporters, but plenty of notice will be given.

Our Community Champions support us right in the heart of the community. They support us with community presentations, meeting supporters in their local area, cheque presentations, collecting donations and clothes donations, and supporting us at community events. Some of our community champions even host their own fundraisers for us.

Event Volunteers

Time commitment: evenings and weekends but we can be flexible depending on your availability.

We host a variety of different events across England throughout the year. Our events can be anything from wing walks, skydives, golf days to special events. Our event volunteers help us throughout the year at events within their local area. No event day is the same and no matter which event you choose to support us at, you will meet some fantastic people along the way. Our event volunteers sometimes even host their own events, so why not get your creative juices flowing and host your own fundraiser? Here are some ideas to get you started.

Corporate Volunteers

Time commitment: varies depending on your work commitments and policies.

We work with several different businesses throughout England to help grow and support us. We have a variety of different ways to get involved and corporate volunteering is a great team-building opportunity that doesn’t cost the earth. Support includes publicising us for a day, supporting us at events, leaflet dropping and even skill sharing.

Student Volunteers

Time commitment: flexible throughout the year and based on what students would like to get involved in.

We work with students and universities to help their students learn new skills and raise funds and awareness for us. We support students in event planning, fundraising guidelines and health and safety requirements. Students can volunteer at one of our events as well as hosting their own. Many students choose to volunteer their time in different ways such as clothes bank drives, community events and presentations.

Student volunteering is a great way to build key organisational skills, teamwork, and communication skills. Every day is different and the key skills they will learn will carry them through life.
