When cancer care comes to the community, everything changes. You’ll help make it possible for people to receive cancer services closer to where they’re needed, in familiar places, surrounded by their own community, without the stress of long journeys to distant hospitals.
As a charity, we receive no government funding. We rely entirely on donations – on the generosity of supporters, like you. We need your help to keep us going! Each unit in our fleet costs £212 per day to operate. Throughout 2024-2025, our fleet of mobile cancer care units went into the community, providing during more than 27,000 patient visits across different locations throughout the country.

How your support helps us to help cancer patients
- Reduces travel time and anxiety for existing cancer patients
- Minimises parking and fuel costs. Our recent impact report shows that over 50% of patients who attend our mobile units save more than £6 per visit, with many saving more than £11 per visit at this difficult time.
- Provides flexible treatment locations with easier access and improved parking – during 2024-2025, our mobile cancer care units recorded more than 27,000 patient visits across 42 treatment locations in the UK
- Increases appointment availability and staff capacity within hospitals and oncology departments
- Enables patients to be seen quickly, with reduced waiting and treatment times
- Gives new cancer patients accessibility to mobile cancer care in their local community.
For patients like Ian, his local mobile cancer care unit has been a lifeline. Ian says,
It has saved me a lot of time, money and effort as I was travelling every four weeks to hospital, which was about an hour round trip, about 14 miles. Now it’s just about 400 metres from where I live in Thetford. I just run straight across the road and on there…
I would have to say, socially, financially, and time was the unit has benefitted me. It’s fantastic. It’s not just me, it’s my family as well. I’m now home more than I am stuck in the hospital. They’ve never even seen the unit or been on it. But them seeing the change in me tells them everything about the service.
