If you spotted Hope for Tomorrow’s CEO, Tina, and Emma, Head of Influencers & Philanthropy, among a host of celebrities on our social media posts recently, you may be wondering why.
The story behind it is very special.
On 11th September, the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we were invited to join more than 30 charities at the London HQ of BGC Group for an extraordinary day of fundraising.
Each year, BGC Charity Day turns remembrance into action, as their global teams raise money in memory of the brokerage’s 658 colleagues who tragically lost their lives in the World Trade Centre attacks.
Dozens of big-name stars from the worlds of music, sport, film and television take to the trading floors at BGC Group, hitting the phones to raise crucial funds for charitable causes. Each celebrity represents a charity that they champion.
We are enormously grateful that broadcaster Kate Garraway became our guest ambassador for the day. Dashing to join us from presenting Good Morning Britain, then her show on Smooth Radio, Kate brought so much energy, support for our work, and superb skills on the trading floor!
Over the years, this day of tribute has gifted many millions of dollars to hundreds of charities, helping people in all corners of the world.
We couldn’t be more grateful that Hope for Tomorrow has been selected as one of the UK beneficiaries this year.
We were so proud to attend and represent everyone involved in our work to bring cancer care closer to people in their communities.
Our thanks go to the brilliant BGC Charity Day team and all their colleagues.
