This will be taking place on 15th October at 12 noon, to be held at Gloucester Cathedral, GL1 2LX.

The Gloucestershire Mobile Cancer Care Unit will be on site throughout the service for guests to come on board and have a look around.

Parking in the cathedral is restricted to pass holders only. There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis. There are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the cathedral:

“I had the immense privilege of meeting Christine first in 2006. We came up with the idea of taking cancer care closer to patients homes. This was achieved when the first Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (now Mobile Cancer Care Unit) in the world was launched in 2007 in Gloucestershire.
Since that time the charity has gone from strength to strength. There are now multiple mobile chemotherapy units across the country all running in partnership with the NHS. These units reduce travelling for patients, allow them to have more precious time with their families and friends, ensure they are linked with local services and make the side effects of treatment more tolerable. This has been recognised by the Charity receiving the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation in 2016.
Sadly Christine herself developed cancer some years ago. Throughout her treatment she continued to show the energy, fortitude, vision and compassion that were the very essence of this extraordinary woman.
Her legacy is the charity Hope for Tomorrow and the innumerable patients and families who have been touched and helped by Christine.”
